Head of Hematopathology and Immunology Laboratory, National Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment of Hematological Diseases – Sofia. Margarita Guenova graduated from Medical Academy – Sofia. Her PhD thesis was on flow cytometric studies of immunological and molecular markers in leukemias.

Margarita Guenova is a co-author of publications in peer-reviewed journals, collections and book chapters in English and Bulgarian, as well as national guidelines in hematology and oncology.

He is an active member of several national and international professional and scientific societies in the field of hematology, pathology, immunology, laboratory. She was the president of the Bulgarian Society of Hematology (2011-2019); Chairman of the European Accreditation Council in Hematology (2017-2020); member of the Executive Committee of the European Association of Hematopathology (EAHP) (2016-2020) and EHA committees and working groups since 2004. She is currently Deputy Chairman of the Joint Oncology National Network (BJCN) and member of the Board of the European Hematology Association (ЕНА).
